Dr. Paul D. Reynolds

Paul D. Reynolds is the recipient of the 2004 International Award for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Research provided by Swedish Foundation for Small Business Research and the Swedish Business Development Agency (the "Swedish Prize"). This reflects recognition of contributions to two large scale research programs.
Dr. Reynolds was part of the team that created the Entrepreneurial Research Consortium (ERC) and has served as the Coordinating Principal Investigator through the life of the initial Panel Study of Entrepreneurial Dynamics (PSED I) project, 1995-2003. He will be the Co-Principal Investigator of the replication of this project, PSED II, to take place from 2004 to 2009. He served as the Coordinating Principal Investigator of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor [GEM] program since its inception in 1998 until 2004, serving as the principal author of five consecutive global assessments. Reynolds has been the principal investigator on more than two dozen funded research projects.
Paul D. Reynolds was a Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies at Babson College ( Wellesley , Massachusetts ) and a Research Professor of Entrepreneurship at the London Business School (UK) from 1999 to 2004. He served as the director of the annual Babson-Kauffman Entrepreneurship Research Conference (1996-2000) and was the Coleman Foundation Chair in Entrepreneurial Studies at Marquette University (Milwaukee, Wisconsin; 1990-1995). Prior to this Paul Reynolds had served on the faculty or staff of the U. of California, Riverside; U. of Minnesota; Wharton School, U. of Pennsylvania; Nanyang Technical University, Singapore; INSEAD (Fontainebleau, France); and the U. of Michigan Institute for Social Research. He is the author or co-author of five conference proceedings; four books; four data sets in the U. of Michigan ICPSR public archives; over 30 project reports and research monographs; over 60 peer review journal articles, chapters, or refereed conference proceeding reports; and several hundred professional conference presentations. Educational background includes degrees in engineering (BS, U. of Kansas ), business (MBA, Stanford U. ), psychology (MA, Stanford U. ), and sociology (Ph.D., Stanford U. ).
